D.Lee Beard explains how to import video into Final Cut Pro and iMovie including HDV video, SD digital video, SD analog video, and video directly from a miniDV HD camcorder. When importing using the Sony Deck I showed, make sure the Final Cut Pro Audio/Video settings are set to Sony Firewire. It didn't show up on the computer video capture because it was at the bottom of the list.
